Having a pretty terrible day, I went into Krispy Kreme to get a raspberry-filled donut. Which, of course, they didn't have. I asked about it, and because I was worried the girl thought I was going to pitch a fit, I reassured her it was fine, and told her I just liked the raspberry-filled to write with. That opened a conversation about what I did (writer), the fact that she and another girl at Krispy Kreme were also writers, and we had a nice conversation. They gave me a free regular donut, and I sat down to work for a bit. Half an hour later, the same girl came up with a warm, hot-out-of-the oven raspberry-filled that she had made just for me, on the house.I ended up buying a box of donuts--which I had no intention of doing--and both the writers asked for details of my Bestseller Life writing courses.Even though it wasn't the point, #kindness brought business.
